A gorgeous Antique French quilt piece dating c 1840. This quilt has only one side that is usable! The back side suffered from having been printed using an iron mordant, and with water washing the fabric completely disintegrates! This iron mordant was used in the early 1800's as nobody realized it would deteriorate the fabric when touched with water! So, this quilt must have been washed some time ago. The front side, however is gorgeous! ~ Lovely gray paisley design with red accents, even a lovely pale sky blue. This quilt has a cotton batting. It would make stunning pillows etc or also can be re-backed! ~*~ . ~*~ ( quilt 10)MEASUREMENTS: 61 inches by 71 inchesCONDITION:I've left this lovely quilt in original , as found condition .
