Antique 1825-1827 Public Property U.S. Rifleman Copper & Brass Gun Powder Flask Antique 1825-1827 Public Property U.S. Rifleman Copper & Brass Gun Powder Flask Click images to enlarge Description DESCRIPTION: Today we are happy to be listing an authentic antique U.S. government-issued powder flask! Crafted of brass and copper, these were created in 1825 and again in 1827, and were issued to United States riflemen. Only around 5,000 of these were made.
The flask features upper and lower carrying loops, a raised bugle insignia on both sides, and "Public Property" stamped in raised letters on the front. It has its original spout as well. We can hear gunpowder inside it but did not attempt to open it up. The lever on top of the spout does move when pushed.

CONDITION: Flask is offered in very good, as-found antique condition, with some patina around the raised images/letters and several dents and dings from use. We have not opened the flask to examine its contents. We have not cleaned this up in any way, leaving that option open for whomever purchases it. Please review all photos before purchasing.
