This is a GREAT account ledger for a general store in Ontario, New York dating from May 1852 to December 1853. A terrific window into the purchasing habits and needs of a northwestern New York town in the 1850's. The ledger is in nice condition for it's age. The spine is a little loose.It has wear on the covers and losses of leather in spots. A smattering of the pages written in pencil are faint, and a good dozen or so have pencil scribbling. 21 out of the first 30 pages have newspaper clippings glued onto the ledger pages. 220 pages in total with one page cut out.
