This 100-year-old business card is in the shape of a small fan that could be used to cool oneself. (Condition is described above.) I found some information about the business on the card on a Grundy, IL history page. G.C. Ridings was both a jeweler and an optician in Moline, IL. And if that wasn't enough, he was also a lapidary (he shaped gemstones for jewelry).Mr. Ridings, formerly resided in Bushnell, Ills., and while there was elected to the office of City Clerk, which office he filled "with credit to himself, and satisfaction to his constituents".His business was located on the corner of Liberty and Jefferson in Moline, IL. (More info is available with the photos I've included with this listing. ) This item is 5.75" wide and 3.5" tall.
I doubt that there are any more of these fans in existence. It is a relic that represents how life used to be 100 years ago. I would like to find a good home for it.
