Date: November 19, 1978 Description: As one of the featured performers in the \"Mickey\'s 50\" tribute to the 50th birthday of Mickey Mouse... Annette is pictured here wearing a pair of golden Mickey Mouse ears with custom patch for this television special. While Annette does wear these earrings during filming, they also opted not to feature her wearing the golden ears once filming began... but assigned that task to several other performers on the show... including Willie Nelson (singing the Mickey Mouse Club Alma Mater)! The negative was in Annette\'s collection for several decades prior to her passing in 2013. Photo is extremely scarce; rarely offered outside the production offices from the creation of this episode of \"Wonderful World of Disney\" (televised on Sunday, November 19, 1978... one day after Mickey\'s birthday). The program\'s producer, Phil May, confirms that the photo was taken prior to Annette\'s appearance before the cameras for the special, introduced by Tonight Show host, Johnny Carson, on NBC television. Negative measures 2.5\" x 3.5\"; also shown on our flatbed scanner when creating a positive image. As Annette\'s disease progressed, she and Glen had redoubled their efforts to fund the critical research that is needed to fight all neurological diseases, including multiple sclerosis, the disease that Annette had so valiantly fought for more than two decades. Their relentless struggle against the disease served as an inspiration that can motivate Annette\'s friends and fans to participate in providing the financial support that this ongoing research requires. Perhaps Glen said it best: \"I want to touch their hearts so they will go out there and help us raise some money. I am going to fulfill her wish to help find a cause and a cure.\" Glen faithfully cared for Annette until her passing on April 8, 2013.
