Beautiful Mastana -Textile Hand-woven in the Community of Huacawasi.
This Andean textile called Mesa quepe or mastana are used by the Paqos as a tool for a ceremony called despacho, Pago a la Pachamama ( pay to the Mother Earth). The mesa quepe is essential because all the items are set on it.This Cloth was woven in the community of Huacawasi, located in the mountains north of Calca (Sacred Valley) - Cusco. This mastana has birds, condors, bats, horse, llama, puma, bull, a person, and geometrical designs. The designs arereversible, these textiles are used traditionally as altar cloths for one\'s \"mesa\" (or shamanic altar) or as a surface for doing coca leaf divination. However, they are also very lovely and unique for use in home decor, table coverings, or collection.This textile will be a good additionto your collection.
