Asian Clay Alva Museum Replica Statue of a Chinese Scholar/ Stenographer Figuirine Sculpture. Measures 8 1/2" long and 8" tall. A really beautiful piece made from clay or clay and plaster. Marked on the right side thigh cAlva. Please see pictures for details. There is tiny “flea bite” on the front very bottom of the figures crossed leg which is hardly visible and does not effect the integrity of the sculpture. I will double box for safe travels. The founder of Alva Studios was born in Vienna in 1911 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1939. In 1948 he founded the his Studio in Long Island, New York, where artists and designers produced reproductions of priceless ancient jewelry and sculpture.
