For sale is this extremely rare saucer from a 12th century Chinese Song Dynasty shipwreck. This piece is whole, and has the rare presence of tiny little sea crustaceans growing on it (possibly coral, or the foundations of barnacles). The crustaceans are tiny, and mostly found in grooves (you really need a magnifying glass to see most of them). It was recovered in Southeast Asian waters, by a team of archeological divers. This piece is made of a clay Chinese pottery in a simple design. It is small, and would have likely been used for tea time nearly 1000 years ago. I don’t see any notable remains of glaze on it, meaning it has either worn off over the years, or was left unglazed. I purchased this piece out of a private shipwreck artifact collection, and have displayed it in my personal collection ever since. This is an incredible rare artifact, that would make a perfect addition to any collection! Perfect display piece, conversation piece, teaching tool, or gift! It is rare that pieces like this make it to the market, so don’t miss out! Don’t pass it up!
