Likely the nicest photographic record of Brooks Field available for purchase. Just discovered packed away in a trunk in an estate where it has been stored for decades.
Photos appear to be from the early 1920\'s or so. Amazing clarity and condition of each photo for 100 year old images.
I always hesitate to show closeup photos of historical images here in my items because internet photos are so easily copied. Therefore I have purposely kept the camera backed away from the album a bit... I don\'t want anyone other than the single buyer to have these photos. It\'s only fair.Album is offered as-found. Nothing has been removed or added to this album, and no changes have been made. Likewise, no copies have been made. It is exactly as it was when it was put away years ago.
Contains 146 photos in total. About a dozen are beautiful and historic photos of the Alamo, with the balance of approximately 134 photos being of Brooks Field, the guys, the planes, and the amenities of the facility there. Most photos measure about 3\" by 5\", but some are larger or smaller. The photos fill the first 40% of the book, while the back 60% of pages are blank.
Lots of photos of officers, planes, free time activities, plane crashes, even shots taken plane-to-plane. It is a truly amazing collection.
I\'ve seen many historical military albums documenting many places and times, but this one... it\'s the best I\'ve seen.
