Vance, with the prize package in the matter of postage paid that has been carried so far over the air route. the package contained auto parts, shipped by a Detroit manufacturer to a San Francisco dealer, who needed them in a hurry and the postage required to carry the package was $84.40. the photograph was made in San Francisco, when the packgage arrived, safely and in time.
Comments: This is an original press photo from 1924.It is likely one of theearliest photographs of air mail taken. There's a crease on the lower left, a small tear on the left side, and three small pin holes along the edge. There's an additional stamp behind the caption on the back. The photos show the actual item being sold.
