This mask carries a serene expression, sort of calm and relaxed. The same can not be said of the second tiny head on top which looks angst-ridden. I\'m not sure of the significance this small effigy has; the carving is quite crude. Its ears have braided cloth and string drop earings and there is a fabric \"beard\" affixed to the bottom. Remnant kaolin has settled into the cracks and grooves and, for some reason, the neck is wrapped in resin-coated burlap. Counting the woven and braided elements which dangle below the wooden portion it is 17\" tall. U.S. buyers please. [Boston Primitive]
