Wonderful bronze African Royal Wall Plaque.
Beautifully made, with plenty of details. The king sits on a horse and has a sword in the hand. 2 Tribal Royal Warriors with spears and shields protect him on the side. Lots of Tribal attributes on the body. It has a beautiful age related brown patina.
This Plaque is of high quality and was made with the - cire perdue technique-, and is therefore unique in it's kind. Beautifully finished off in detail.
Almost all Benin art was created to honor the king who has reigned, with his ancestors, from the 15th century. Each is sculpted by hand, then cast in bronze.Good condition, but with signs of use, reparations and normal holes of cast glitches. Please study the photos well.
