AWESOME VINTAGE NATIVE LOUISIANA SPLIT OAK BASKET EGGS VEGETABLES Butt Ribbed:

This was purchased from an estate and I was told it was likely handmade in Louisiana. I have no way of authenticating this but it appears very similar to other Choctaw baskets. This might be considered an egg or butt basket, great for gathering eggs, herbs or berries.

Measures approximately 10-1/2” wide x 10” tall x 6” deep.

Still feels solid but does appear dry like it could use oiled but I did not want to do anything that might reduce the value of this beautiful basket. Beautiful “rosettes” on each side of the handle. Please see photos.
