While these are designed specifically as single taper light candleholders, they may also serve as footed votive cups or condiment bowls when turned upside down.Avon’s 1876 Cape Cod Collection was inspired by RomanRosette, an early Victorian Sandwich Glass pattern (1830 – 1900). The 1876 Cape Cod Collection name commemorates boththe 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence,and Cape Cod where Sandwich Glass originated.The dark ruby red glass was a special formula made exclusively for thispattern by WHEATON Glass. The dinnerwareline was introduced by Avon in 1975 and discontinued in 1993. Some pieces were packed with Avon Products orfilled with Avon cologne, bath oil or bubble bath. There were 37 different items in the line anda few pieces were introduced each year.
