Antique American dated and signed- c. 1929. C.M.W.

(Classic Metal Works) - heavy black metal cubist style- Art Deco Cat Art statue- sculpture- single bookend- in very good to excellent used aged condition.

The bronze (believe) statue, originally painted black, maintains most of its coloring over the years with a few rub spots where the metal is now showing through, now considered natural patina. The figure is quite heavy (just under 2 lbs) and is well made with no noticed cracks, or scratches. There are a handful of places where an outer edge looked to have gotten “dinged” and the left ear tip looks to have a “flea chip”- all obvious in photos and none that take away from overall uniqueness of this item to display.

Great item for a collector of cat figures, one collecting or needing a bookend or even “door stopper” for a light door, or for the collector of antiques and uniquely exquisite pieces.
