Hand crafted long ago from one piece of wood, this antique pencil & pen box is a cool vintage place to stash your writing tools. Dating from the late Victorian era, the wooden box is made up of three parts, a sliding lid, a compartment with three slots for pencil or pens, and large compartment in the base piece.
This antique student writing tool box was well loved in its time. John Edwin Garwood, a previous owner, wrote his name in cursive handwriting on the bottom of the box and also printed his name on the reverse side of the lid. There are ink stains and graphite marks inside box and obvious wear all around.
The antique wooden pencil box comes with two old dip pens. One is marked 88 E Faber U.S.A. Star and one with no markings.
