An antique/ vintage German Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg button.
It measures approximately 2cm in diameter.
White metal with rigid shank.
Embossed wording S. Wolfgang Anno D 987; the bishop is holding an axe and crozier.
I have not polished it and the button has some tarnishing;
some wear in keeping with age and use; rubbed – please see all the photos.
Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg was bishop of Regensburg in Bavaria from
Christmas 972 until his death in 994; he was canonised in 1052.
Patron saint of carpenters and wood carvers, and the city of Regensburg.
He can be invoked against internal bleeding, paralysis, stomach diseases and strokes.
