This tin dates over 100 years old in two different ways. Part of the tax stamp is still attached to the left of the tin, coded 1923 and the tin is ribboned with Bayuk Brothers all around the lid and bottom. (see research below)The tin is in good condition for its 100 years of age. There are scratches and paint is missing in spots. When we acquired this piece there was a piece of paper, apparently that had been attached and looks to have been cut that states 2 For 15 cents found inside the tin.Please look at all pics and message with questions.
\"The history of the cigar-making Bayuk brothers begins in 1896 when Sam, Max and Meyer Bayuk pooled $325 and opened their first factory in a rented Philadelphia attic, joining 900 or so other Philadelphia cigar makers.The company maintained five brands of cigars in their catalog, all made in multiple sizes and sizes and shapes:PHILADELPHIA PERFECTO, CHARLES THOMSON, HAVANA RIBBON, MAPACUBAandPRINCE HAMLET.The Brothers incorporated in 1920, becoming Bayuk Bros., Inc., a name which lasted for only three years, as in 1923 they changed the focus from the original brothers to their product and became Bayuk Cigars, Inc.\" (Nat\'l Cigar History Museum)
