I am proud to offer for your consideration, theSeth Thomas Tambour 8 that is over 100 years old and still looks this great and keeps consistant, accurate time week after week. This clock is equipped with a 7 jewel platform balance wheel escapement instead of a pendulum. The design and condition of the case is incredible as thepictures will show. This model has a lotof great features that is not seen in other mantel clocks. It has a solid Mahogany case instead ofveneer and shows its unaltered original crazed shellac finish. No character marks are on the case.Thecylinder shape design that holds the movement looks as if the dial is floatingon top of a flowing carved design of intricate wave patterns that flow to eachend. This pattern is raised on a basethat has a nice step up molding design.Please utilize the zoom feature to show just how beautiful this clockreally is.

This clock has a beautiful 4-inch silvered dialwith raised bronze Arabic numbers that can be clearly seen from a distance and fancybronze serpentine shape hour and minute hands that compliment the dialface. The dial is then surrounded by asilver sash to give it a rich look. Theoriginal convex beveled glass has no scratches or chips in it and is surroundedby its original finish polished brass bezel.The bezel opens and closes perfectly with a nice snap sound. The brass back door has a great design andappears to have the original cloth with slight wear in the material. The back door also opens and closes perfectlywith a nice snap sound.

This clock has its original premium D-105 roundplate half-hour strike movement that was completely rebuilt and comes withpolished gold sealed spring barrels. Themovement has polished gold plates and is a very solid, well built and farsuperior to other round movements. Thismovement has the same character and precision as the Seth Thomas 15 daymovement. PLEASENOTE THAT THIS MOVEMENT REQUIRES NO PENDULUM WHICH MEANS YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT KEEPING THE CLOCK PERFECTLY LEVEL. A proper size one-sidedkey comes with the clock. This clockstrikes on the hours and once on each half-hour on a cathedral bell metal gong that ispleasing to the ear. Just click on the video,turn up the volume on your phone or computer and enjoy. The clock minute hand was physically moved toshow strike working.

What I do to ensure you are buying a quality clock.

Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely.

Ø Install Seth Thomas parts ONLY on the movement if needed.

Ø Rebush all worn pivot holes with superior bronze burgeon bushings.

Ø Clean the entire movement ultrasonically.

Ø Clean the original dial or have it sent out professionally and restoredto Seth Thomas dial specifications.

Ø Clean bezel, parts and chime by hand.

Ø Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners aswell as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand.

Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places.

Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth andeven strikes at each hour and half-hour.

Ø Smoke free, pet free home. Allclocks are cleaned odors removed.
