Model: City Series Pittsburgh V.P.
Description: This is an original Seth Thomas City Series \"Pittsburgh V.P.\" model walnut veneer shelf clock with an 8 day time and hourly strike movement that has just been serviced and comes to you as shown with the original pendulum and replacement winding key. This is a very desireable model mainly because of it\'s decorations, pendulum and size because it is a bit larger than most shelf clock models. This clock is running and keeping fairly decent time. It strikes on the hour, counting the hours on a rich, deep sounding cathdral gong. Although it is running properly at the time of this listing, it is being sold as a NON-RUNNING clock due to the adjustments all mechanical clocks require upon set-up after delivery. This includes brand new clocks from the factory. If you do not know how to set the beat or regulate the time on a mechanical clock, please watch a couple of YOUTUBE videos on \"how to set the beat of a mechancial clock movement\" and \"how to regulate the time\" before placing a offer or making a purchase. I can also help walk you through it if you still have questions. If you do know how to perform these \"Clock 101\" adjustments, you will be very pleased with its performance. The finish looks like it may be original with a few touch ups over the years as you can see some imperfections in the woods finish. The glass is old and has a bubble along with some waviness to it. It has the original black label that is about 80% present. There is a velvet material on the backboard and I see no extra screw holes but the material is old, brittle and has cracking as you can see in the picture. The dial has the original painted finish with ST logo as shown. The pendulum is original and the rating nut looks like it may have been replaced. The door lock is working properly. The only real fault this clock has is that it is missing a wood finial/side arm decoration on the right and the carving along the top has a crack in the middle of it. This clock is a very expensive clock when complete and in fine condition so, here is your chance to have a nice clock at a much better price.
