Beautiful hand embroidered and quilted coverlet stitched with dark pink embroidery thread.The top of the quilt is made with 36 squares, each embroidered with a different design.There is all-over hand quilting.
One square is embroidered with the year 1898 and the initials L B. The rest of the squares are embroidered with a variety of flowers, dancing children, a cat, dog, deer, good luck horse shoe, a conductor and drummer. There are a few condition issues, as would be expected. There is some fraying on the binding and one area towards the top that is torn and frayed. There are some light yellowed areas and a couple of spots. I did wash it gently in cold water and line dried. I did not try to remove and stains, leaving that to the experts.
