ANTIQUE NIPPON RELISH DISH, THATCH ROOF COTTAGE, TREES, WREATH MARK:

Maker: This beautiful hand painted relish dish is by the renowned Japanese maker Nippon, precursor to the equally renowned Noritake.
Nippon is justifiably famous for its high quality and this dish is no exception. It features a thatch-roofed cottage beneath a stylized tree.
Age: The green "Hand Painted Nippon" wreath mark with M (for the Morimura brothers, who founded the company around 1876) on the base dates its production to around 1911.
Condition: The dish is in overall good condition with no nicks, scratches, repairs, crazing or discoloration. There is a chip on the rim of the base and a section of wear on the front - they're shown in the photos.
Size: The dish is 4 by 6 3/8 inches and about 3/4 inch tall, measured at the center.
