Up for sale is an EARLY/ANTIQUE, fantastic handwritten English deed on parchment paper (King George III) - 12 June 1818. The Skinners Company - County of Kent. It has several signatures. The Worshipful Company of Skinners (known as The Skinners' Company) is one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. It was originally an association of those engaged in the trade of skins and furs. It was granted Royal Charter in 1327. Includes 8 pieces of paper measuring approximately 10 x 16 inches. The are held together my a medal nail in the upper left hand corner. It is written in old English. It is mostly legible writing with some aging. It is generally in Good condition with some fading and smearing to the ink. The paper has browning and other age related staining, foxing and wear and grime that has accumulated over the years. There are several creases from folding and there are a few small holes in the document, as well. Nicks and chips along the edges. Heavier browning/staining on the outside pages. This is not my typical area of expertise, so please ask any questions. This is a fabulous piece of British history and would be a great addition for any collection! Inventory - #15 - RB
