Up for sale is an EARLY/ANTIQUE, fantastic handwritten English land indenture on parchment from \"Thursday the 16th day of March in the 1st year of the Reign of His Majesty King George the 4th - 1820\". There are no seals. \"Purchased by Sir Andrew Judd of John Gates Esq. and Thomas Thorogood\" \"An Act for the better appearance of lands and tenements to the \"Maintenance of the Free Grammar School of Tonbridge in the County of Kent\"The document reads, \"The Attorney General v The Skinners Company\"\" on the back and \"Vice Chancellor\" at the top of the front page.Includes 1 document measuring approximately 12 1/2 x 16 inches. It has 3 pages and is tied with a green ribbon in the upper left hand corner.This indenture is written in old English. It is mostly legible writing with some aging. It is generally Good condition with some fading and smearing to the ink. Some staining, foxing and wear and grime that has accumulated over the years. There are several creases from folding and there are a few small holes in the document, as well. Nicks and chips along the edges. Some small damp stain along the edges, as well. Browning and black scuff marks on the outside page. There is a signature on the 2nd page and one on the back of the document. Deeds are not my typical area of expertise, so please ask any questions and see photos for the detail of the signatures.
