William Shaw (W. S.) Potter, the subject of the photograph, passed away in Columbus, Ohio in 1939. He was known to be the oldest funeral director in Central Ohio, and a senior member of Potter & Learned Co. in Columbus. In his younger days, Mr. Potter was one of the first morticians to be granted an embalmer's license in Ohio and established his first place of business in Corning, Ohio in 1884.
The Vintage Antique Cabinet Card Portrait Photograph is in Very Good Condition for its Considerable Age, with only very light wear or creasing noted from many years of past display or storage. Please see accompanying photographs.
