Early 20thC barograph in tiger oak case with 5 light cover made by ROSS, New Bond Street, London (see below). This 8 day device in good working order and includes original glass ink vial, a spare vial/pippette, blank charts and a fascinatimg guide to barographs including operating instrutions. Good original condition save a chip in the back glass. The mechanical drum is fitted with original cylinder platform escapement and integral winding key.Ross was founded in 1830 by Andrew Ross and specialised in optical devices and scientific instruments such as barographs, microscopes and later cameras. The firm continued to trade well into the 1960sOffered for sale BUY IT NOW.Weighs 5.9kg before wrapping - this is quite heavy for one of these as the glass is heavy and thick lead crystal.
