2 antique 106 x 12 inch handmade embroidered cut work needle lace ecru table runners, likely made in Italy circa 1900. These table runners depict a mythological theme with fauns, deer, rabbits, goats, birds, men and women in a forest setting. ART NOUVEAU flair typical to the Victorian era. The listing photos show the entire surface of the table runners, with one photo showing a portion of the reverse of one of the table runners. These table runners appear to be hand made.

An amazing set of table runners that would be a showpiece topic of conversation when decorating a formal table, or for collecting, as I would consider these to be museum quality.

I acquired these pieces along with other linens about 10 years ago, from a 80 year old woman who indicated that these were handed down from her grandmother. This would indicate that the table runner would date to the late 1800s to very early 1900s.

NOTE: This item is outside of my area of expertise. Please take into consideration that some of the terminology I use in describing the item may not be correct. This is why I include so many photos in the listing description.

EXCELLENT condition. - Please see the listing photos to best view detail and condition. I\'ve included in the listing, photos of every part of both table runners so that you can view the condition. Upon inspection I could not find any issues, but please take a look at the listing photos to confirm my findings. There is a musty odor as a result of years of storage. Some folds can be seen in the photos, once again from the table runners being stored in boxes for decades. Since this is not my area of expertise, I have not attempted to clean the table runners and will leave that up to the new owner and / or someone who has greater expertise in how to clean / preserve antique fabrics.
