Reduced. Very beautiful inlaid Metal and Faux Tortoise Shell ANTIQUE, c19th English Victorian HORSE SHOE MATCH SAFE VESTA; FIGURAL NOVELTY. Purchased from Gray’s Antiques, London. Very good condition for this unique equestrian horse shoe match safe. It is made of metal probably something like tin and is inlaid with faux tortoises shell along the bottom to form the base of the horse shoe even showing what would be nails. Feathered fetlocks with the match opening at the tip of the hoof. Striker on underside of hoof. The match safe measures at its longest points:

Length: 2 1/4”

Width:: 1 1/2”

Depth at Tip of Top: 3/4”

Overall Great antique condition-wear consistent with age. scratches; all faux tortoises intact. Very elegant working piece.
