ANTIQUE 1930s JAPAN GREEN BASKETWEAVE & FRUIT MAJOLICA CERAMIC CANISTER W/ LID:

This listing is for a ceramic Majolica basketweave kitchen canister made in Japan. Has an embossed fruit theme and is handpainted, the typical 1930s \"Made in Japan\" ink stamp on the bottom. Not counting the lid, stands 4 1/4\" tall. Opening measures 5 3/4\" X 4 1/2\".
There is a ceramic \"knob\" on each side. At one time, I\'m sure there was a rattan handle attached to these. Replacement rattan handles are cheap and readily available if you want to add one.Crazing consistent with age, but no staining. A few chips on the INNER rim of the canister, which of course cannot be seen when the lid is on. One nearly imperceptible hairline next to one of the handles that appears to be age related rather than damage related. A beautiful survivor.Will be wrapped with care and shipped with GOBS of packing material.
