A Very Rare 17th Century Bronze and Iron Mughal Opium Strainer,
A small muslin bag was placed around the iron loop and the opium drained through.
Very good quality casting with \'Chatri\' finial and Yali holding the iron loop in its jaws. The tops of the \'legs\' have what appears to be stylised horse heads.
This practice still continues in Rajasthan, India where guests may be offered this mild opium drink.
