Amazingly 9” tall, open, very well made, elaborately detailed West German Stein by GERZ. The base is a cobalt blue which gives fabulous detail to the amazingly intricate earth colored scene of wildlife, which include a wild boar, a deer, a rabbit, an elk, a hunter with his gun in a stand and the handle is a wily fox. There is a French hunting horn in the design on the Stein with the German word WAIDMANNSHEIL inside its handle. This word means “a wish for a successful hunt”.

The beer Stein was purchased by my husband several decades ago. I do not know where it came from other than it was new and its origin was German. My husband had it in a glass enclosed curio in our home. It has been one owner for at least 35 years and is in immaculate condition. It was well taken care of, and moved only for painting and cleaning purposes. I see no chips or problems with this item at all. We are in the process of downsizing and therefore need to limit the number of beautiful and amazing things we’ve collected over our lifetime.
