For your consideration are 8 government postal card circa 1951 (according to another seller who dated his/hers) inviting some young men to join post 207. While the message does not mention scouting, there are some clues that it likely is. For instance, Boy Scout troops met in churches during the week: \"You have been selected to visit our Unit at Stephens Memorial Church...\". According to an online source, the historical use of \"units\" is part of the organization\'s terminology along with the church creating and maintaining ownership of it: \"Churches hosted and congregational ministers led many of America’s first Boy Scout units,the local church owns the unitand \"...to adopt Scouting as an integral ministry and select a unit organizing committee from within the congregation\". Finally, each unit chose a particular area of study and was responsible for recruiting new members: \"We are going to specialize in SEA EXPLORING\", \"This invitation is extended to young men who have been mentioned to our Membership Committee as probable prospects\".

Condition: What I like most here is the authenticity - errors when the shift key makes a capital letter jump off the line like the M in Memorial and the J in Jack - the overstrike in the last h in Church and the off space in Kansas City at the bottom of the postcard. These are not errors, just a part of history. There is a tiny, tight crease on the left of the address side and another shorter one right below it. Those little dots you see on the stamped side were made by the typewriter when the period key hit the postcard.
