742g Large, Partially Polished Ajoite Cluster Messina Mine, South Africa:

This incredible cluster is polished on two faces of the largest termination to show its complex ajoite, hematite and epidote inclusions. The smaller terminations of the cluster feature the brightest ajoite inclusions and are unpolished. The back cluster is totally unpolished and has not been cleared of the calcite layer that is so often found on Messina quartz. It is possible that there are more inclusions in that cluster. The bottom of this piece is completely recrytallized and features chlorite inclusions. Due to the length of the back cluster and the fact that the self healed bottom is intact, this piece is best displayed with some kind of support in the front. I can provide a small pillow upon request.
