This is an antique salesman\'s sample of machine lace (5 pieces--all different) from the Garfield Stahl Co. New, York. It all measures 9\" long and each piece is a different width from 1 1/4\" up to 5 1/4\". Please check all of my pics carefully as it all is antique (early 1900\'s.)It came from a huge lot of similar machine lace pieces from that company; these would be cool for crafters or costume makers!
CONDITION: From the early 1900\'s, antique, has the original paper top piece stapled on with some pencil notations and some store tags at each end, needs ironing, is an off white color with some browning along the edges as these are older pieces. I measure the lace where the lace meets the paper as I don\'t know if the parts under the staples are rusted. Some of these pieces are tacked onto a netting--I don\'t know if that\'s part of the pattern or just something to attach it to? There are a few loose threads also.These would be so cool for so many crafting ideas or even framed for a sewing room!
