You are invited to buy a lot of 6 vintage Japanese sake cups, Five of these delicate hand painted cups are a floral design painted inside the cup with an adult content image painted on the bottom. Each scene is unique.
The sixth cup is shaped differently and slightly larger. It has heavy gold decoration with an adult content scene painted inside the cup. It has decoration on the outside of the cup and is signed with a red stamp on the bottom. I could not find what the mark means.
Great little set of sake cups for those who collect such things.
Provenance:A Captain in the U.S. Army Military Police and his family lived in Japan where he was assigned during the occupation following WWII. He was there from 1949 till early 1953. During that time they purchased many nice Japanese items that they returned home with. It is thoughtthis sake cup set is some of those items. I acquired it when their daughter was downsizing their estate.
