This is a nice selection of BIRTHDAY postcards that have the classic motifs that were seen on antique postcards from the early 1900s. There are two sets of postcards in this lot: one has four postcards and shows lake, monument and mountain scenes; another has two postcards and shows scenes in the middle of a church bell, and what looks like an apple. These postcards are EMBOSSED and four of them have GOLD TRIM. The postcards are nicely made. They are colorful and attractive to look at. They are from the same publisher.

The publisher of these postcards is Julius Bien (1850-1915, New York), who published holiday and greetings postcards out of Germany during the “Golden Age of Postcards” (1908-1915 era).He was one of the pioneers of the postcard industry and is looked upon as one of the most sought after publishers by collectors.

These are good postcards to add to a collection. They wouldappeal to collectors because they capture the style used back in the early 1900s, and show a glimpse of life back then. They have good detail, and they are a pleasure to look at. Overall, a niceselection of antique Birthday postcards at a very reasonable price.

The postcards are UNPOSTED (4) and POSTED (2) with cancel dates in the 1909 era. These would have been \"Printed in Germany\" during the \"Golden Age of Postcards\" (1908-1915 era). They have DIVIDED backs.

These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector.The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains and edge wear due to their age.The photos show the postcards and the backs.
