For sale are five large central Texas chert / flint stones selected specifically because their size, shape and composition make them ideal for knapping and shaping into spear points or arrowheads. Though these chert / flint stonesmake excellent fire starters when struck with carbon steel, each rock is approximately 4\" x 6\", which makes them just right for knapping. These chert / flint rocks have not been heat-treated or processed in any way. Chert and Jasper are the general name for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges. Flint is usually chert that is grey.
