5 Antique Rosenthal Bavaria Monbijou Scalloped Dessert 6\" Plates 1891-1906 MINT:

Antique Rosenthal Bavaria Monbijou Scalloped Edge Hand Painted Floral Matching 7" Plates.  Mint condition! Made circa 1891-1906.  These plates are >120 years old, and they look like they were never used.  Real gold trim is still in mint condition.  Lovely green and yellow flower colors are still vibrant with no wear and no fading.  Please enlarge all pictures.  The signature intricate scalloped mold used to create each plate has its own name - “Monbijou”. The edging is painted in real gold.  The blank plates were made in the Rosenthal factory and then consigned to local pottery shops for artists to create the interior design.  The plates were then re-fired in the kilns to secure the design to the plate.
