Lycoming Court Indictment True Bill Transcript Commonwealth March 1883
Indictment of four males for affray to which eight witnesses were in attendance.
Dated 25 December, 1882 in full:
Peter Monry, John Richard, Wesley Gordner, Jacob Gordner and Thomas Law
Being unlawfully assembled together and affrayed in a warlike manner then and there in a certain public place in in view of all the citizens of the said commonwealth unlawfully and to the great terror and disturbance of divers citizens of the said commonwealth then and there being dupe make an affray, by then and their fighting with each other in and before the public contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided and against the peace and dignity of The Commonwealth of Peace Pennsylvania.Condition: Some wear and discoloration. Lycoming Court Indictment True Bill Transcript Commonwealth 13 October, 1885.
Indictment for John W. Hagan for misdemeanor and assaulting one Alice Wilson supported by four witnesses.
Although proven not guilty Hagan paid $1.00 in court cost.
Second document is from one Alice Wilson dated 2 December, 1885 being the petition of the Commissioner of Lycoming County to stand for non-payment of [presumably court] costs.Condition: Indictment has slight colour variation, Schedule of Property has fold tear and document creases. Indictment, Transcript and statement Daniel Updegraff for crimes involving assault and battery (three documents)
Indictment dated 26 June, 1883. In full:
In and upon one C.H. Stevens did make an assault and him the said C.H. Stevens did beat wound and ill treat and other wrongs to him the said C. H. Stevens then and there contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the commonwealth of PennsylvaniaDated 26 June, 1883 Statement by C. H. Stevens. In full:
Before me the subscriber an alderman in and for said C. H. Stevens who being duly Sworn according to law did depose and say that on the 26th day of June A.D. 1883 one Daniel Updegraff did wilfully maliciously and with forethought assault deponent and did on the 25th day of June 1883.
Make threats that he would do deponent great bodily harm and that the assault made on the 26th as aforesaid deponent did receive great bodily harm and further [illegible] not Sworn and Subscribed. Before me this 26th day of June A.D. 1883 (signed A.H. Stead AldermanDated 13 September, 1883 Transcript.

Commonwealth vs Charles English and on the oath of M.S. Ratcliff, an Assault and Battery case 22 December 1882 and 24 January 1883. In full:
Charles English of Pine Township Yeoman Yeoman [Pennsylvania] held in $100 [bond]
Michael Kirk of Pine Township Yeoman Yeoman held in $200
M.S. Ratcliff held in $50
To give evidence upon condition that if the said Charles English shall personally appear at the next court of quarter sessions of the peace to be held at Williamsport for the county of Lycoming and then and these to answer such things as shall be objected against him on behalf of the commonwealth for assaulting and striking of a certain M S Ratcliff and not depart the said court without leave and in the meantime keep the peace and be of good behavior towards all the citizens of the commonwealth and especially towards the said M S Ratcliff then the above recognisance to be void otherwise the said several sums of money to be levied of their goods and chattels lands and tenements respectively to the use of commonwealth taken and acknowledged the 6th day of November 1882 before John M English Justice of The PeaceCondition: Two horizontal fold marks and three fine vertical fold marks. Else Fine to Very Fine.
