3 RARE 18th CENTURY SPANISH, CATALAN, BLOWN GLASS DRINKING MUGS:

In over 50 years of collecting we have managed to acquire 5 of these very rare blown glass mugs. We sold off 2 on last year and saved the best examples for our collection. We have since decided to put the last 3 up for sale at a bargain of a starting price! All are from the Catalan Mountain region of Spain (Catalonia) and date to the second half of the 18th century (1750 - 1800). They were purposely made, oval, flat sided to easily transport. In the18th century the roads of the region were only rough mountain trails and transportation was by horse and pack animals such as donkeys and burros so these type drinking mugs slipped into saddlebags easily with little bulk. These are all rare and seldom encountered. They are all excellent with no damage, just normal age wear. They still have some inside dirt that can be washed out. We left them as we got them years ago. The largest is 5 ½’ tall (very rare in this large size and emerald color). The ribbed one is an extreme rarity and has a string of bubbles inside the glass, see closeup. 3 very rare early Spanish drinking mugs, in outstanding colors, for one low price!
