This listing comes from the estate of a former Air Force Test Pilot, Wilbur Giesler, who recently passed away at the age of 95 in Spartanburg, SC. Please check out my other listings which include numerous vintage aviation items from this estate.

This is a vintage collection of 3 ORIGINAL 8x10 photographs taken during A-10 aircraft flight testing, dated 9 May 75. From the estate of a former test pilot who worked on the program (check out my other sale of the A-10 beer mug personalized with the nickname / call sign "GIES" on the back). These photographs feature the legendary A-10 aircraft in its infancy, and some of the A-10 test pilots & staff who were there at the beginning of it all!

Wilbur Giesler became an Air Force pilot in 1949 after earning his wings from pilot training at Vance AFB, OK. He went on to become a test pilot after graduating USAF Experimental Flight Test Pilot School in 1957. He served as a unit commander before retiring from the USAF as a Lt Col in 1969, and then went to work as a civilian for Pratt & Whitney.
