Relic 2nd Class of Venerable Father Marie-Clement Staub Plus a Laminated Holy Card of Father Marie-Clement Staub and a Siler Oxidized Medal of Saint Joan of Arc. The second class relic is a piece of clothing worn by Father Marie-Clement.Joseph Staub, inreligion Brother Marie-Clément, (July 2, 1876, Kaysersberg - May 16, 1936,Sillery), is a French Catholic priest and preacher, founder of the Sisters ofSaint Joan of Arc. Returningto the Augustinians of the Assumption, he took the habit in 1896, under thename of Brother Marie-Clément, finished his studies in Rome, where he obtainedhis doctorate in philosophy and theology, and was ordained priest on March 19,1904. Sentsuccessively to Louvain, to Gempe, then to London, he met, through commonacquaintances, Édith Royer in 1908. In 1910,Staub joined the Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts in the UnitedStates. He founded the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joan of Arc in1914, mainly established in the United States and Canada, in order to supportthe sisters devoted to the apostolate of priests and religious. On May 2,1917, he obtained from Cardinal Louis-Nazaire Bégin, Archbishop of Quebec, theauthorization to establish in this diocese the Assumptionist Fathers and to theSisters of Saint Joan of Arc, as well as to found there a Canadian center forthe Archconfraternity of prayer and penance (known as the “CanadianMontmartre”). On April3, 2014, he was declared venerable by Pope Francis. His feast day is celebratedon May 16.
