This is an incredible piece. It is a book filled with 200 years of newspapers from the Rutland Herald in Vermont. Flip through the pages for a trip back in time. See the advertisements for each year published.

The Rutland Herald was founded December 8, 1794 by two men who had identical names. They were Dr. Samuel Williams and Judge Samuel Williams, distantly related. Inevitably in history the identity of the two men was confused. Dr Williams was a famed Harvard educator influential in the founding of the University of Vermont. Dr Williams was frequently referred to as \"the most learned man\" in the state and was known as the author of the first history of the state. Judge Williams was called \"father of the village\" and twice was Matthew Lyon\'s leading challenger for Vermont seat in Congress from the Western District. Recognized as Vermont\'s oldest newspaper and the oldest family owned newspaper in the United States, the Herald was established only 3 years after Vermont was admitted to the Union in 1791. The Herald\'s history closely parallels and is interspersed with the history of the state, making it the publication that is closest to being the state\'s Bicentennial newspaper.

This book is a collection of historical briefs brought together by the staff at the Rutland Herald. Each page has a print of the newspaper from that year spanning from 1792 to 1991.

The book is in very good condition. It does have some where due to its age. Still has its original plastic wrap with it. The plastic wrapping is torn due to book usage.

The book measures 14 in by 11 in and mimics the look and feel of holding a newspaper as you are reading it.
