Sticking out about 2 inches.4 1/2 WITH noise .Noise is 2 1/2 inches.Not sure of the wood.Could be coconut but is very light.Please remember they are very old and will show ware from age.Selling as found not knowing about items like this.Will be shipped as if they were glass
