2 Maaskamp Hand Colored Prints 1811 Plates 12-13 Early 19th Century Costumes:

2 hand colored prints by Evert Maaskamp (1769-1834) of the Netherlands, published in 1811. They were printed by J. Barfield in London for Cohnaghi & Co. in 1811. They are part of a set of 16 prints depicting "costume, morals and habits in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 19th century". The plates were engraved by Jaques Kuyper and colored by the famous Dutch painter Jan Willem Pieneman (1779-1853). Each one has a bit of gold paint near the heads of the figures; please see last photo. When the light hits it just right it really stands out. The frames are about 9x12 inches, the exposed parts of the prints is 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches. If you don't want the frames I can ship for $4.00.
