2 Nice Vienna Art Tin Plates by the H. D. Beach Company Coshocton, Ohio, circa 1905 and Royal Saxony Charles W. Shonk Company Chicago Ill circa 1900-1908.Approx: 10\" D and 11 Ounces eachGreat pair of old plates to add to or start a collection good chance to get a two for one price.
Plates are as Follows:
1.) Lady facing left, is \"Una Gitana\" plate #102, Royal Saxony Charles W. Shonk Company, Chicago Ill. Approx: 10 1/8\". This is unmarked, but it\'s design is well documented. Good general condition but shows wear as shown in pictures. This design was used in the early 1900\'s for beer, general use goods and other advertising but this is unmarked as noted. Features young lady with low cut dress and a hat, surrounded by gold and green rim on plate. Antique metal hanger will be included.
2.) Lady facing left, tin Vienna Art Plate \"Claire\" as Advertising for the Weatherheads Drug Store. This is rare for it\'s advertising, not many pieces exist with the \"Weatherheads\" adwork and we could find no other plate with one. Approx: 10\" Plate by the H.D. Beach Company Coshocton Ohio, Pat Feb 21st, 1905, artist A. Bock. This plate was used in various forms of advertising from cola\'s, liqueurs, yeast and general use items. There may be an additional plate marking under the paper \"Weatherheads\" sticker, but we did not want to damage the the sticker of course. Weatherheads was a drug store in Cincinnati Ohio from 1848 to 1915 when it was merged to form the Dow-Weatherhead Drug Company. Good for not only a collector of the se Vienna Art Plates, but also Cincinnati or Pharmacy collectors. Features a lovely brunette in low cut gown with green and gold border. Plate in very good condition but does have some wear as shown in pictures. Still has an old price tag of $25 likely from the 1960\'s-1970\'s or so when collector may have obtained it.
Please review all pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed. Also, if you are not familiar with these authentic antique art plates. Always be cautious and do not use harsh detergents if attempting to clean, that can damage paint and finish of the plates.
