1984 Vtg Russian Kholui Lacquer Box Hand Painted Fairy Tale Signed 6\" x 4\" x 2\":

Here is a wonderful Russian lacquer box rescued from the resale shop. Measuring 6-3/8\" x 4-1/8\" x 2\", this is a medium/large hinged trinket or jewelry box. It is signed on the top, and the translation app showed it is titled \"Rogday\'s duel with Farlaf\" (from Ruslan & Ludmila\'s fairy tale), and it was done in Kholui by Tikhomirov, L. The original paper inside also translated to Fight between Rogdai and Farlaf, Kholuyskaya, and is dated Aug. 20, 1984...and cost 48 rubles, 20 kopeks. The last photo shows a screenshot of the translated paper.

The red surface inside has hard lacquer bubbles in a few places, but the rest of the box is in very good condition. Please check out the photos for a close up view. It will be carefully packaged for shipping and I will refund if it arrives damaged.
