This is an original press photo. Camp Cooley Ranch - TexasThe 10,800-acre Camp Cooley ranch in Robertson County is primarily a working cattle ranch. But it also contains a 1000-acre zoo inhabited by a range of animals usually found in South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, or Europe. The ranch\'s elands, the largest of Africa\'s antelopes, pictured above, number 50 and make up probably the largest herd in United States . The ranch hopes to promote the elands as a new food source for cattle-dependent America. Other animals inhabiting the ranch include wildebest, at left, and addax, below right. Marcus Greaves, pictured at right, oversees the operation which is owned by liquor and real estate magnate Burt Wheeler. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 08-16-1982.
