The difference between these two historic and sadly neglected cemeteries and the soothing green order and peace of Metairie Cemetery is wonderful indeed. Covering 150 acres, which are dotted with palm trees, oaks, oleanders, numerous other trees and shrubs and a winding lagoon, this curial ground provides a splendid setting for its Taylor and General John Bell Hood. Two of the cemetery\'s most imposing monuments are those of the Army of Tennessee, topped by an equestrian statue of General Albert Sidney Johnston, and that of the Army of Northern Virginia, which displays a statue of General \"Stonewall\" Jackson.
