1970s Purple Sugilite + Richterite Sterling Silver Handmade Chakra Reiki Pendant:

Royal Lavulite was initially named because of the dark royal purple color. It was later scientifically identified as a jewelry-grade version of a then-obscure mineral known as Sugilite.

The gem collector from whom I purchased this particular cabochon was a very trusted gem collector and seller. I had done business with him for over 10 years. He did not disclose the name of the deceased gem collector from whose estate he purchased the cabochons. And I did not want to pry, so I did not ask. He did say that they were cut back in the 1970s. All I know is that I purchased them ALL. He had no more. He has since passed away.

I can tell you that I verified the authenticity of the cabochons with several other gem collectors at the gem/mineral show before I purchased them. They looked at the cabochons with a jeweler’s loupe and through a very special microscope. It was, after all, a large investment. I wanted to make absolutely sure that the Sugilite was whole cut stone and not some reconstituted material. As a trusted long-time business associate, I trusted the gem collector from whom I intended to purchase the cabochons, but had to make sure that he hadn’t been duped! The other gem collectors were excited that I had found such lovely quality Sugilite. They declared that the cabochons were genuine, created from whole cut stone, and definitely worth the price. The many years that I’ve been collecting stones and my knowledge base come into consideration when I select cabochons to create my handmade pendants. I would not, in good faith, be able to offer anything other than the genuine article. My reputation is priceless to me.

But I wanted you to see what the Sugilite Pendant in this sale looked like beside my slab and spheres. The slab was purchased 20 years ago. For repeat customers of mine, you may have seen this slab in many of my sales as a background, so maybe you can judge the color of the Sugilite by the slab.

Ancient Practices:

Pendants are reminiscent of ancient amulets, talismans, charms and mojo bags worn to protect the wearerfrom harm and/or bring good fortune.

I have no medical evidence to substantiate the correlation between wearing this stone and the effects it will have on the wearer. The mystical healing properties offered above were partially paraphrased from one of a series of books by Melody. Melody suggests that the metaphysical properties listed for each stone will have these effects on the wearer WHILE he/she concentrates on the desired outcome. The author further states that this is NOT a substitute for consulting your physician;and I agree. When I wear any of my stones or crystals, I feel empowered by them. Maybe it is just because I WEAR them with specific intentions -- it works because I told my mind it would, OR does it work because of the molecular interactionbetween my body and the stones/crystals? I do not know. All I know is it seems to work FOR ME.
